IIA presents international revenues seminar and survey.

I recently became a member of the IIA’s (Irish Internet Association) International Strategy Working Group, tasked to assist Irish businesses in increasing revenues from overseas markets through better use of the Internet. The working group aims to achieve this by providing support to businesses on how they can achieve increased global reach, increased global market share and increased global revenues. Topics covered by with group will include Localisation, Translation Services, Foreign Payment Methods, Legal and Taxation issues in other Jurisdictions

We are planning to host a seminar in the autumn titled 'Growing international revenues using the internet'. In advance of the event, our working group is seeking input from those interested in this area, and we have put together a short survey for this purpose.

We are currently working on developing a blog to communicate the activities and findings of the group, share stories of first-time internationalisation experience and generally create a forum and discussion around this vital topic for so many businesses.

The members of the group are:

Mark Rodgers (Cipherion Translations), Managing Director. Website translation agency with over 15 years experience working with global organizations.  Mark is taking on the role of Chair of the group.

Una Coleman (that’s me) (Codegaconsulting), International Marketing Consultant with over 20 years experience in marketing and strategy and international operations both in the US and Europe. Own consulting business.

William Cotter, Managing Director & Founder (Netaffinity) digital marketing agency specializing in the marketing and promotion of brands and businesses online.

Cathal Cronin (Realex Payments), Currently introducing new products for Realex’s international markets.

Jonathan Kyle (Greenjobs.ie), Director of Strategy for Irish online-recruitment company expanding into Europe. Prior experience at setting up and running sales teams in AOL and Monster.

Eoin O’Siochru (EI E-Business unit), Manager of EI unit that supports Irish organizations to grow internationally using the internet. Prior experience in IDA, as well as setting up own marketing business

Roseanne Smith (IIA), Online blogger, membership co-ordinator for the IIA.

Together, we can all contribute to growing Ireland’s export revenue and building a knowledge base on business internationalization.
